Dole Sunrise Smoothies

Dole Sunrise Smoothies

Looking for a tasty, healthier snack option for your warm, spring afternoon? Here's one for you!

On my last trip to Disneyland, I was in line to buy a Dole Whip. (What else?!) Next to the straws and spoons, I noticed a little wooden box with what looked like postcards inside. Free souvenirs? That's for me!

When I took one, I noticed that it wasn't a postcard, but a recipe card for "Dole Sunrise Smoothies."

The ingredients and directions couldn't be easier:
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt or frozen yogurt (we used vanilla yogurt)
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries, partially thawed (we used fresh strawberries, partially frozen)
  • 2 ripe bananas

**To be fair, we also added a handful of ice. Literally, two hands cupped together holding some ice. When hands are measuring tools, it's hard to be specific. Let's say about a cup of ice.

That's it! Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and enjoy!

Verdict: They're no Dole Whip, but they are very tasty and refreshing on a warm day. I'd definitely make them again! (Possibly adding a second handful of ice next time.)

  1. This looks great!

  2. Just tried these today. Amazing!

  3. You will then need to cut the fruit and store it in the freezer; an alternative to this is to freeze the plain yogurt instead. Do not freeze both ingredients, only one.
