Dole Sunrise Smoothies
Looking for a tasty, healthier snack option for your warm, spring afternoon? Here's one for you!
On my last trip to Disneyland, I was in line to buy a Dole Whip. (What else?!) Next to the straws and spoons, I noticed a little wooden box with what looked like postcards inside. Free souvenirs? That's for me!
When I took one, I noticed that it wasn't a postcard, but a recipe card for "Dole Sunrise Smoothies."
The ingredients and directions couldn't be easier:
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 cup vanilla yogurt or frozen yogurt (we used vanilla yogurt)
- 1 cup frozen strawberries, partially thawed (we used fresh strawberries, partially frozen)
- 2 ripe bananas
**To be fair, we also added a handful of ice. Literally, two hands cupped together holding some ice. When hands are measuring tools, it's hard to be specific. Let's say about a cup of ice.
That's it! Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and enjoy!
Verdict: They're no Dole Whip, but they are very tasty and refreshing on a warm day. I'd definitely make them again! (Possibly adding a second handful of ice next time.)
